About Luke
Luke Lippitt is a student at Orchard Park High School in Buffalo, NY. He is currently serving as the Vice-President of the school and the Parliamentarian of student government, as he is interested in the parliamentary procedure of government. Luke is also the Executive Director of Students Protecting Education, passionately serving as a change maker in the world of student empowerment and enfranchisement. Luke fights tirelessly every day to ensure every student has the opportunity to use their voices and to access the resources they need to be successful in our ever-changing society and educational landscape. He is a leader, also serving as a board member and representing his fellow peers and schools of District 12 for the New York State Council on Leadership and Student Activities. His passion for student voices and empowerment has led him to found the Erie County Student Leaders Summit, an event that brings together schools from across Erie County in order to share ideas and inspire change within our educational communities- and beyond.

I founded Students Protecting Education in order to provide my peers with the help they need to protect their education and access to diverse and inclusive resources within their schools and communities. My passion for leadership has translated into an organization that develops leaders who are capable of using their voices loud and proud.
After I was asked to speak to the Leadership Buffalo Class Action and Rising Leaders classes in 2023 about the founding of my organization and its journey, I was empowered to apply to be a part of the program myself. I was chosen to be a member of the 2024 Graduating Class of Youth Leadership Buffalo, connecting with fellow peers from across the WNY area to share thoughts, ideas, and experiences to build our leadership abilities.
I was proud to attend the 2023 NYS CLSA state conference, where I learned a lot about leadership from student government across the state. Here, I was elected by and represent the students & schools of NYS CLSA District 12, planning and organizing activities to develop the leadership abilities of students from across the Empire State.
